Where is Da’at in the Hermetic Qabalistic Tree of Life?

I love that question with the fire of a thousand Suns! If you look at the Jewish Kabbalah (often spelt with a K) and ask that question, the response is a resounding “nowhere”. The Sages of the forbidden modern-day occultism would much rather keep it’s dirty secrets under stone. But let me take a moment to share those dark and dirty secrets. Since the Hermetic Qabalah (spelt with a Q) inception, it had appropriated the Kabalistic tree of life from Judaism and made it, its own. Either due to poor understanding or a drive to develop the tree of life further, a void was noted between Kether (K eh-Ter) and Tiphareth (Tih-fer-et). In line with the white colonialism’s mind setting, they concluded that there was a non-existing Sephira (singular) amongst the many Sephiroth (plural). Within the Western Mystery Tradition, of which Golden Dawn stands, they have declared a Non-Existing Sephira called Da’at. (Dah’Aht).

It’s placement is between the top and middle Sephroth. It is below Chokma & Binah, but above Chesed & Geburah. Now having this established in the Victorian Era within the Golden Dawn, we then introduce everyone’s favorite, Uncle Al. He drove significant interest towards the acceptance of Da’at being the place of the VOID. This is again, not found with the Jewish Kabbalah. Interesting? Furthermore it was developed that When the tree of life fell, it could be argued that it was Malkuth that sacrificed itself so that the Tree of life would stay standing and the place it fell from was now called Da’at. Alternatively, it could also be argued that when the tree fell Tiphareth held the space just below Kether where Da’at is now. It fell from the higher space and fell downward. Malkuth also shifted down giving us our modern tree.
